Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Finance for the Surgical Strategic Business Unit (SBU) will advise the VP of Finance and the Senior Management team regarding risks and financial returns associated with strategic business growth. The Senior Manager will collaborate with the Senior Management team and cross-functional stakeholders to provide decision support to the SBU. The Senior Manager will develop alternative scenarios for annual and strategic plans, and work with department leaders to develop accurate financial metrics for SBU performance tracking on a monthly and quarterly basis. The Senior Manager will report financial results accurately on a timely basis and ensure compliance with requirements of external parties including internal/external auditors.

Principal Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly financial close activities in order to present SBU Financial statement and reporting packages. Provide analytical commentary on performance drivers. Investigate financial performance variances and assist business partners in taking appropriate corrective actions.

• Lead the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual plan.

• Deliver quarterly analytics on actual and forecast performance on a timely basis in response to corporate needs.

• Develop and present financial models showing impact on P/L of business initiatives and provide investment guidance; partner with the business to develop new product financial modeling.

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and guidance to business partners.

• Identify and implement process improvements.

• Lead and coordinate the activities of 2 Financial Analysts through coaching, goal setting and delivering performance feedback.

• Maintain the SBU control environment; monitor key accruals affecting the SBU and partner with accounting to ensure reserves are adequate.

• Maintain system components in SAP required for financial reporting such as additions and changes to automated accruals, cost centers, profit centers, and the SBU authorization matrix.

• Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex’s Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and standards.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or Master of Accounting / Finance is a plus.

• 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience in a manufacturing environment; Medical Device experience is a plus.

• Demonstrated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• People management experience.

• Advanced skills in use of MS Excel.

• SAP and BI experience.
