Job Summary
This experience provides opportunity to learn and work in the accounting area of a growing commercial bank. Students will have in-depth exposure to the inner workings of our corporate accounting functions. Intern will be trained to perform real work in our accounting department and will gain knowledge of the banking industry, corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. This internship is designed for the student who is serious about pursuing a career in banking in Central Illinois after graduation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Record financial transactions associated with a variety of areas throughout the bank
Process payments and maintain records
Perform daily and month-end reconciliations
Assist in preparation of month-end financial statements
Assist other related projects
Attend accounting and finance related meetings and discussions
Supervisory Requirements
Personnel Management: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Qualifications
Essential:
College student completed Sophomore or junior year
Majoring in Accounting
Minimum GPA 3.0
Experience
Essential:
Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Detail-oriented and confident in a professional office environment
Trustworthy in dealing with confidential information
Interested in living and working in Central Illinois after graduation
Relevant computer skills
