r This position is for a non-tenure track temporary faculty position for fall 2025 semester.

The primary focus of this search is for a candidate that can exhibit inventiveness and expertise in teaching design studio at all levels, 1st year principles courses, and graduate theory seminars. The architecture program is seeking candidates who can communicate the power of effective design in their own work, be able to discuss the intellectual investments of both their work and their design pedagogy and provide examples of innovative approaches to design teaching. We hold in the highest regard those candidates who not only exemplify the qualities described above, but who are energetic, collegial, and highly motivated to contribute to the greater good of a successful and dynamic architecture program.

Responsibilities: The teaching load will be 9 credits for Fall 2025 Semester

ARCH 243 Media in Architecture (3 credits)

Introduction to techniques for hybridizing manual & digital design tools for workflows relative to the architectural design process; includes virtual modeling, CNC fabrication, 2D/3D printing, manual drafting, manual modeling, various software. Two 75-minute sessions per week; in class lectures and workshops; tools, techniques, and exercises integrated with ARCH 253.

ARCH 353 Architectural Design III (6 credits)

Development of architectural design process and projects that cultivate an understanding of structures, properties of materials and building tectonics. Emphasis is also placed on precedent analysis, basic code, and site related issues. Three 3-hour studios per week and assigned work; field trips required at student expense outside scheduled hours; some class critique sessions may meet outside scheduled hours.

Experience teaching in postsecondary setting in architecture field

Professional registrations- American Institute of Architecture
On-going high-quality creative practice
