Shire Cluster Operations Lead in Moscow office, Russia

The Cluster Operations Lead will manage the day to day Supply Chain Operations for the cluster or region, reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, Russia

This individual will be responsible for communicating relevant Supply and Demand information to SC in a timely manner and liaising appropriately with QA, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial and other relevant functions, lead S&OP process for Russia: both Shire consolidated portfolio and Joint Venture Shire portfolio.

The Demand Planning Lead will maintain Federal tender supply of Shire products and audits support. This individual is also responsible for uninterrupted product availability and integrating the Supply Chain launch of new products in the cluster.

This individual will be responsible for the timely completion of goals and objectives. The individual will be responsible for ensuring all relevant Supply Chain systems are appropriately developed, maintained and improved, including demand forecasting, S&OP ownership, inventory management & reconciliation


30% Demand and planning activities, S&OP process leading for both Shire and JV

35% Product availability and Hemophilia Federal tender coordination

15% Analytical reports, which are the base for Finance & Business strategic decisions

10% Inventory management (WH replenishment for both Shire and JV, Non-performing inventory)

5% Audit support, month closure

5% Launch support

Education and Experience Requirements


  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 years of progressive experience in various supply chain management roles, Pharmaceutical or Healtcare industries is a plus


  • Knowledge of supply chain management

  • Strong analytical skills are required to ensure proper Supply and Demand planning

  • Ability to think “outside the box” and be well versed in the global distribution

  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required to facilitate information flow across internal / external supply chain partners and senior leadership.

  • Knowledge of different aspects of regulatory compliance that impact a pharmaceutical supply chain. This can include but is not limited to GxP considerations and controlled substance regulations

  • Able to work in multi-task environment, demonstrate proper time-management skills

  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability in driving change within an organization. This could include systems, processes or tools to drive success

  • Able to recognize the importance of meeting business needs and balance cost, quality and customer service

  • Upper-intermediate English level both written & oral is required

  • Strong computer skills, advanced MS Excel user

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Ability to manage the day to day Supply Chain Operations for the Region/Cluster; and meet simultaneously the Region/Cluster, Business Unit, Commercial and Tech Ops goals. Specific challenges and complexities revolve around balancing service, schedule compliance, productivity / cost objectives due to constraints, QA issues, change controls, projects, etc.

  • Balance the requirements of Compliance (Corporate, Financial, Quality, Taxation and Global Trade) to achieve a sustainable and scalable operation.

  • Systems, policies and procedure design in light of resources and agreements across numerous functions.

  • Deal with ambiguity resulting in a high degree of risk management and appropriate risk mitigation

  • Deal with a wide range of problems (Launch, Integration, New Market Entry, Demand variability) that require complex judgments and innovative solutions in order to meet the needs of the BUs, Commercial and Tech Ops.
