This includes planning, developing, implementing, updating, and administering EHS policies, procedures, programs, and training to ensure compliance with all company standards and governmental regulations that protect Trident employees and assets. Key Responsibilities: Partners with site Management, Human Resources, and Corporate Safety to deploy and implement the Trident Safety Process and to fully prepare or maintain facilities for OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) accreditation. Develops and manages inspection procedures to identify and address areas presenting hazard or risk. Implements and oversees the administration and training of policies and procedures for all environmental processes within the facility. Manages stormwater pollution prevention program and responds to emergencies involving release of pollutants. Evaluates hazardous conditions or practices and develops and implements effective and sustainable hazard control practices and programs. Develops and implements training programs to cover emergency procedures, environmental compliance, workplace safety, and other areas consistent with governmental regulations and business needs. Maintains training records. Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory requirements Establishes, tracks, and delivers workers' compensation cost reduction and containment practices and procedures. Acts as the EHS Pillar owner in the Trident Performance System and is responsible for workstream pace, implementation, completion and communication. Provides support during OSHA, EPA, PSM, and other regulatory and internal audits. Investigates fatalities, serious injuries, spills and near miss events that occur at company facilities while leading A3 for any recordables. Additional Responsibilities: Acquires knowledge and implementation of Trident's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions Notifies designated personnel of any EHS incidents, events or risks not previously documented, in accordance with training, procedures, and policies. Minimum Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in EHS, or other relevant technical fields (or equivalent combination of education and additional experience) A minimum of 5 years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental & safety programs in manufacturing, production, or a related industry HAZWOPER certification is required or ability to obtain within 12 months. Ability to establish and evaluate strategic goals and metrics for measuring success. Strong collaboration, analytical, influential, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interfacing with site management and leading group meetings. Must be results-oriented with the ability to drive continuous improvement within the EHS department as well as the overall organization. Strong working knowledge technology and equipment used in environmental inspections. Working knowledge of all applicable local, regional, and federal requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Occupational Health and Safety and/or accredited professional certification professional is strongly preferred. 5 years' experience in Environmental, Health, and safety in a manufacturing, production, or related industry preferred. Experience in the seafood industry or in a further process operation Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects. regularly up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
