The IT Healthcare Data Interoperability Services Team is looking for a dynamic Business Systems Analyst to join our team. We work across the enterprise to develop and implement Interoperability Solutions to enable our business partners to send and receive patient and device data through industry standards while meeting privacy and security requirements. Team members must follow the Medtronic System Compliance Methodology (MSCM), Medtronics procedures that align to industry standard quality management to ensure our solutions work as intended. Business Analysts must also ensure that Medtronics systems and the information on them are protected in accordance with Medtronics Information Protection Policies and Standards, as well as best Information Protection practices.

Role responsibility includes a deep functional understanding of the technologies and platforms and the ability to lead and facilitate team-based work that include business and technical team members in order to understand the business need and technology options to meet those needs. This includes leadership on requirements and design deliverables, development of estimates, as well as leadership roles on small to medium sized project teams.

In this role you will be a primary point of contact for our team and will need to build strong and trusted relationships with our business partners. A DAY IN THE LIFE

Meet with current and new business teams from all of Medtronics operating units to explain and demonstrate the teams healthcare data interoperability capabilities.

Lead business partners in refining and defining their needs to define scope and prepare teams to onboard onto technology platforms as well as define new features and capabilities to be built to meet business needs.

Partner across IT, business, privacy and security teams globally to facilitate expansion of interoperability capabilities.

Prepare project proposals by working with the business and the technical teams to determine scope.

Provide the voice of business/customer to the development/technical delivery teams.

Create and maintain documentation for use by business teams to understand system design and functionality as well as deliverables for compliance (MSCM), team procedures and support articles. Deliverables include procedures, process flows, use case diagrams, mock-ups, knowledge articles, requirements documents, design documents and test deliverables (scripts, reports).

Perform system testing activities as needed.

Build subject matter expertise on the Healthcare Data Interoperability Standards.

Remain apprised of emerging business needs, trends and technical capabilities.

May support proof-of-concept activities with business and technical teams.

May lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues.

May manage large projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelors degree

7+ years of experience with a bachelors degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

Previous Medtronic experience

Preference given to current Medtronic employees

Recognized expert, managing large projects or processes

Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager

Healthcare IT experience / familiarity with Interoperability concepts (HL7, FHIR, DICOM, etc.)

Experience working with software validation in a regulated environment such as the FDA

Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry

Experience working with Enterprise medical imaging, Data and Reporting

Understanding of various Imaging Modalities and Data/Messaging Standards (e.g. DICOM)

Experience with data privacy frameworks such as HIPAA and GDPR

Experience with Agile Software development methodologies, Scrum experience preferred

Quality assurance experience working in an application lifecycle management (ALM) platform

Experience with delivering process improvements

Experience in a software/application development work environment

Understanding of project management best practices

Demonstrated experience providing guidance to project team members

Demonstrates strong customer service awareness and orientation

A passion for transformation

Comfortable resolving competing priorities and meeting project deadlines.

Self-Starter with a Can Do Attitude.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities.

Experience in the development and support of integrated business applications and systems architecture.

Ability to manage issues associated with project interdependence/design conflict, resource allocation and change management.
