Job Title: Tool & Die Maker

Job Description

We are seeking a Tool and Die Maker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies, working closely with the production department to address all tooling issues. This role requires studying blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies. The job also includes the use of measuring instruments like calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts. You will need to set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and bench grinders to cut, bore, grind, and shape parts to specific dimensions. Other responsibilities include cutting, shaping, and trimming blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes, reworking damaged components, and troubleshooting problems to find solutions.

Hard Skills

  • Repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies

  • Use of measuring instruments

  • Operation of lathes, milling machines, and bench grinders

  • Ability to work with large progressive, transfer and deep draw dies

  • Blueprint reading

  • Tool room machining

  • Ability to obtain/retain Industrial Powered Lift Truck certification

  • Ability to obtain/retain Overhead Crane certification

  • Ability to obtain/retain Lock Out/Tag Out Authorization certification

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

Work Environment

This role is based in a typical stamping facility, which can be loud and is not always the cleanest environment. You will be responsible for six buildings and will work with presses ranging from 100-600 tons, Mig Welding Machines, and Orbit Forming machines.
