PACCAR Inc. Structural Lab Support Technician in Mount Vernon, Washington
Structural Lab Support Technician Main Purpose: The candidate for this position will work with a first-rate team of technicians and engineers testing heavy duty truck components and systems. The candidate will be responsible for setup, maintenance and tear down of sophisticated servo hydraulic test fixturing and equipment in the structural testing lab. The candidate will be required to perform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision and maintain the highest level of documentation, work area cleanliness and organization. Division Information The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. Job functions and responsibilities: Mechanical setup of test fixtures and equipment used for evaluation and validation of test articles critical to product launch. Hydraulic actuator inspection, installation and plumbing Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, subsystems, and components such as valves, manifolds, actuators, and pumps. Periodic inspection of test samples and related documentation. Test controller operation to start and shut down tests as needed. Technical support of test activities as needed. Qualifications: Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in the use of air tools, hand tools and power tools. 1 - 3 years of experience in the mechanics of fluid power systems and have in-depth knowledge of hydraulic-powered machinery, pumps, valves, actuators and motors. Ability to diagnose system faults, perform routine maintenance checks, replace worn or damaged parts, and install new hydraulic components. Welding, metal fabrication and assembly Ability to work with minimal supervision. Effective writing and communication skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to use precision measuring tools.
