Responsibilities

The 3rd Shift Process Technician is the technical expert in dry-offset printing for the assigned work team.

  • Technical Competency Development: Manages the frontline technical development of all assigned work teams. Provides guidance and skill development to process technicians.

  • Re-establish Flow: Re-establishes flow through prioritizing and allocating team resources, pulling defined help chains, and returning the team to the defined standard.

  • Project Coordination: Coordinates and facilitates assigned projects into work team activities.

  • Continuous Improvement Activities: Executes the Plan, Do, Check, Act process to assist in the continual improvement of results achieved through various tools, such as A3, Storyboards, War Room and SAPQ1/Q3.

  • Information Sharing: Provides input to new product development teams upon request; participates in start-ups of jobs.

  • Customer Focus: Personally demonstrates that external (or internal) customers are a high priority. Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner. Anticipates and prevents delays or other things that can adversely affect the customer. Keeps customers informed about the status of pending actions and inquires about customer satisfaction with products or services.

  • Integrity/Dependability: Views himself or herself as a reflection of the organization by following through on commitments and accepting ownership of any mistakes he or she might make. Qualifications

Requirements

  • Work Schedule: Willing to work 10:30pm - 6:30am after a 2 month training period on 1st shift

  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience with troubleshooting manufacturing machinery and repairs / maintenance.

  • Leadership: Professional experience leading teams of 10 or more. Experience in a Union environment is a plus.

  • Computers: Able to use computers and applicable software to the level needed to carry out Job Accountabilities. Examples include: Microsoft Office products, SAP, Minitab.

  • Equipment Start-up: Assist in the start-up of new equipment with process support.

  • Fast Pace: Able to work in a fast pace environment.

  • Quality Management: Knowledge to develop and maintain processes compliant with all internal and external quality and product safety requirements.

  • Safety Management: Safety Management best practices.

  • Communication: Engage in written and oral communication that is clear, unambiguous, transparent, and consistent with the organizational vision, mission, and values.

  • Problem Solving: Looks for root causes, generates solutions, evaluates the relative strength and weakness of each option.

  • Decision Quality: Stays focused on objectives and considers both the short-term and longer-term impact of decisions and keeps objectives in mind throughout the process.

  • Technical Credibility: Has achieved credibility related to technical standards and procedures.
