Google Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Science Search in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in program management.

  • 5 years of experience in technical program management or equivalent experience in a technical role (Software Engineering, Data Science, etc.).

  • Experience in program management, project management, or process improvement, and managing projects with multiple players across cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including data science and engineering leads.

  • Experience in technical program management, change management, and communication strategy on technical topics and solutions.

  • Experience in managing complex, cross-functional programs in an ambiguous environment, resulting in innovative outcomes and solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams in a fast paced environment.

  • Attention to detail, time management, and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will direct programs and transformative process improvements, harnessing data-driven insights to pinpoint critical areas for impact. You will direct executive leaders, forge alignment, and develop technical solutions that enable seamless cross-functional collaboration across multiple product areas.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Leverage technical acumen and domain expertise to shape the overall direction of technical programs, partnering closely with engineering to develop technical roadmaps and design docs.
