The Xbox Experiences and Platforms team is home to the engineering work that makes this vision possible, building the developer tools and services that enable game creators to craft incredible experiences, the commerce systems that connect publishers with their audience and help gamers engage with their next favorite games, the platforms on which those games play at their best, and the experiences that turn every screen into an Xbox.
Our developer team is on the lookout for a full-stack engineer who excels across the entire stack, from infrastructure to backend and frontend development. We are particularly interested in someone who has a true passion for crafting exceptional web experiences. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that will shape the future of gaming and have a significant impact on how game creators can be successful on our platform.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for feature design and implementation, holding a high bar on quality and delivering your projects through meticulous execution. You build features yourself and work with other engineers to drive larger features and infrastructure improvements.
As a primary feature owner, you will ideate, scope, and driveimplementation, validation, and health monitoring.
Your time will be balanced implementing new features and contributing to a product infrastructure area like security, performance, reliability, accessibility, shared libraries, telemetry.
Build real-time data monitoring and alerting signals to monitor the health of features you ship to know when critical errors happen and when critical dependencies fail.
Qualifications
Required
4 years experience delivering quality Web applications within a professional organization
3 years building Web applications using modern front-end and CSS frameworks.
Strong understanding of modern CSS and responsive website design.
Understanding data structures, algorithms, threading, synchronization.
You are an ambitious teammate who is passionate about learning, sharing knowledge, and making your teammates successful.
You are creative and have strong design, development, and collaboration skills.
Experience with C# OR Java
Advanced English level
Preferred
2 years programming with one of more of React.js, Next.js, Node.js, ASP.Net Core, TypeScript .
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, services, and cloud storage technologies.
Familiarity with containerization and one or more of Azure, AWS or GCP.
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager or other enterprise CMS is a plus.
BS/MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and creativity in unfamiliar domains to overcome challenges and deliver impactful outcomes.
