We are seeking committed and talented MDM Engineers to join our new FoundationX team, which lies at the heart of DigitalX. As a member within FoundationX, you will be playing a critical role in ensuring our MDM systems are operational, scalable and continue to contain the right data to drive business value. You will play a pivotal role in building maintaining and enhancing our MDM systems.
This position is based in India and may require on-site work from time to time.

We are seeking committed and talented Data Warehouse Architects, to join our new FoundationX team- which lies at the heart of DigitalX. As a member of our team within FoundationX, you will be responsible for ensuring our data driven systems are operational, scalable and continue to contain the right data to drive business value.
Your role will be critical to the continuous improvement/ continuous development (CI/CD) of strategic IT assets and services. You will be supporting the development of data warehouse architecture, design and delivery across Astellas.
You will also ensure that data infrastructure supports critical business processes, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
As a Data Warehouse Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. Your expertise in Azure, AWS and other related technologies, will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will play a pivotal role in building maintaining and enhancing our systems across the organisation. Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
Data Modelling and Integration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and create technical designs, data models, and migration strategies.
Design, build, and maintain physical databases, dimensional data models, and ETL processes specific to pharmaceutical data.
Cloud Expertise:
Evaluate and influence the selection of cloud-based technologies such as Azure, AWS (essential), or Google Cloud (Desirable).
Implement data warehousing solutions in a cloud environment, ensuring scalability and security.
Qlik Expertise:
Leverage Qlik for data visualization, dashboards, and self-service analytics.
Create Qlik applications to empower business users with insights.
Pharmaceutical Data Governance:
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations (e.g., FDA, HIPAA) related to data privacy, security, and audit trails.
Implement data quality, integrity, and standardization efforts across pharmaceutical products and databases.
Advanced Analytics:
Work with analytics teams to enable advanced data analytics, predictive modelling, and AI applications specific to drug discovery, clinical trials, and patient outcomes.
Collaboration and Communication:
Engage with business stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and regulatory affairs teams, to understand their data needs.
Translate technical information into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
Additional focus areas
Participate in smaller focused mission teams to deliver value driven solutions aligned to our global and bold move priority initiatives and beyond.
Design develop and implement robust and scalable full stack applications using modern technologies.
Collaborate with cross functional teams and practises across the organisation including Commercial, Manufacturing, Medical, DataX, GrowthX and support other X (transformation) Hubs and Practices as appropriate, to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide Level 3 and 4 Technical Support to internal users troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring system uptime as soon as possible.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives identifying opportunities to optimise performance security and maintainability of existing data and platform architecture and other technology investments.
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations (e.g., FDA, HIPAA) related to data privacy, security, and audit trails.
Implement data quality, integrity, and standardization efforts across pharmaceutical products and databases.
Participate in the continuous delivery pipeline Adhering to DevOps best practises for version control automation and deployment. Ensuring effective management of the FoundationX backlog.
Leverage your knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) and data engineering principles to integrate with existing data pipelines and explore new possibilities for data utilization.
Stay-up to date on the latest trends and technologies in full-stack-development, data engineering and cloud platforms.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years demonstrated relevant experience.
Any relevant cloud-based AWS or Azure certifications for example:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional / Associate (will be considered with relevant experience)
Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator
Microsoft Certified Azure Developer
Knowledge and experience of working with SalesForce / SAP (Desirable)
Experience using ETL tools like Talend / Talend Cloud and DataStage (Essential)
Knowledge and experience using Azure DevOps (Essential)
Experience in working with MPP Databases like Redshift
Experience of delivering architectural solutions effectively within Lifesciences or Pharma Domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience analysing and building star schema data warehouses
Experiencing writing SQL and creating stored procedures is essentialData Analysis and Automation Skills: Proficient in identifying, standardizing, and automating critical reporting metrics and modelling tools.
Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead ad hoc analyses, identify performance gaps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience in integrating data from multiple Data sources like relational Databases, Salesforce, SAP and API calls.
Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in SQL, PLSQL. Experience in AWS and Azure.
Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
Code and version control experience and best practices
Understand and Interpret business requirements and can term them into technical requirements.
Create and maintain technical documentation as part of CI/CD principles
