Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Supplier Quality Specialist to join our Supplier Quality Regional Operations team based in Germany. In this role the Supplier Quality Specialist will be responsible for providing oversight and supporting our supplier's Quality Management System (QMS) activities that stabilize and improve supplier performance.

This assignment a virtual opportunity (the selected candidate will not typically work on-site at a Boeing facility).

Travel up to 75% of the time to non-Boeing locations in EMEA, easy access to transportation network (highways, airports, trains stations) is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes and products to determine compliance with Boeing technical and contractual requirements.

  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results

  • Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements of various technologies and commodities

  • Performs conformity inspections

  • Supports regulatory agency audits (FAA)

  • Ensures supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed as required; evaluate supplier Root Cause Analysis and proposed corrective action plans

  • Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work

  • Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, technical expertise, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity

  • Monitors quality improvement initiatives at supplier; develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity

  • Report any quality issue to leadership.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree and typically a minimum of 5 years or more related work experience, or a Master’s degree and typically 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Prior audit and quality assessments experience

  • Working comprehension of the requirements of AS9100

  • Possess knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies for at least 5+ years.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization

  • Strong technical background

  • Knowledge of supplier quality system requirements, along with extensive process auditing experience.

  • Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Fluent in English in spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as APQP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, FAI, RCCA

  • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and AS9145.

  • Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or co-leading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and processes

  • Experience developing supplier improvement plans and strategies, providing training, and coaching.

  • Ability and the technical skills to lead and perform source inspections on various types of hardware and assemblies

  • Have the ability to obtain an ODA qualification (FAA designee for conformity inspections) through Boeing organization

  • Fluent in German in spoken and written

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense
