All workers should be physically able to meet and perform the work outlined in the contract for the entire period of time from 2/28/2025 to 12/28/2025. Tobacco: Burley Tobacco: Duties to include, but not limited to: greenhouse care, setting, topping, oiling, cutting, housing and stripping. Workers will be trained for a period of two days (14 hours) after which the worker will be expected to cut 100 sticks per hour - does not include dropping sticks in the field. Dark Fired Tobacco: Duties include, but not limited to: greenhouse care, setting, topping, oiling, cutting, housing and stripping. Workers will be required to cut wood and carry to barn to fire the tobacco. Wooden slabs covered with sawdust are placed under the tobacco that is hanging in barn. Slabs are fired to smoke the tobacco and is repeated until the tobacco becomes the appropriate color. Worker will remove remaining ashes after the tobacco is fired. Workers are required to cut/spike 50-60 sticks per hour. Air Cured Tobacco: Duties include, but not limited to: greenhouse care, setting, topping, oiling, cutting, housing and stripping. Other Related Duties for all types of tobacco: Workers may chop weeds between plants with hoe; remove tops and suckers from plants, apply side dressing. The employer will train new workers in seeding, setting cutting, housing and stripping tobacco for a period of two days (14 working hours). A trained worker is expected to cut 100 sticks per hour for burley tobacco and 50-60 sticks per hour for dark fired tobacco. Row Crop Production: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops such as corn, wheat, soybeans, etc. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant/cultivate crop. Haul grain to facility with no CDL required. Worker must be willing to get a valid driver’s license and medical card to operate vehicle to haul grain. Perform variety of other duties such as husking and shelling corn, lubricating and repairing farm machinery and unloading grain onto conveyors to storage bins and elevators. Fruit/Vegetable Production: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store vegetables. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant/cultivate crop. Perform variety of other duties such as lubricating and repairing farm machinery. May plan and schedule plowing, cultivating and harvesting operations. Plant, cultivate, harvest, & pack vegetables (boxes, buckets & crates). Installation and maintenance of irrigation lines. Lay plastic, setting plants, weeding (w/hoe & by hand), driving stakes, grading/sorting and activities associated with vegetable production. Assist in set-up of product for sale of crop. Alternative Work: General farm maintenance and other duties as required in the farming operation maintenance. Includes, but not limited to, repairing barns, draining fields, preparing land for planting, dropping sticks in field, maintenance of tool & equipment & other work as directly related to the crop activities for which the worker is hired. Maintaining flocks of poultry and cleaning poultry barns, checking chickens, picking up dead chickens, seeing that food and water automation is working properly. Assist in hog operation, duties may include, but limited to, feeding, water, and remove dead. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities listed above.APPLICANT SHOULD RECEIVE A COPY OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND JOB REFERRAL BEFORE CALLING EMPLOYER CONTACT. All workers should be physically able to meet and perform the work outlined in the contract for the entire period of time from X to X. The employer must provide free housing and three meals a day or furnish free convenient cooking facilities to all workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence the same day. If the employer elects to provide meals, a maximum of $15.88 per day may be charged to the employee. The employer will provide the necessary tools, supplies and equipment at no cost to the worker. Experience:3 months experience required working with foals, yearling preparation, and vaccinations.Employees are subject to random drug testing.
