Overview of the Acute Care Services Summer Internship
The Acute Care Services Administrative Summer Internship is designed to augment classroom learning and to prepare future healthcare leaders for opportunities upon graduation.
The incumbent will work directly with members of the leadership team on a variety of short-term strategic and operational improvement projects. In addition, the intern will partner with an executive mentor, attend leadership meetings and participate in development workshops.
The internship will be responsible for creating and implementing a process improvement initiative.

Physician Contract Management Redesign process
Philanthropy & Hospital Administration Redesign process
Patient Experience strategy
Hours: Full-Time, 40hrs/wk, Mon-Fri, 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2025.

Job Essentials
Participates and is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department / facility. Works with the members of the team to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals.
Attends team / department meetings and actively participates / takes on opportunities to share knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the meeting.
Gains knowledge of the department's / facilities functions. May job shadow various roles within the department in order to understand their role in the organization.
Works with other members of the department / facility to accomplish assigned tasks.
Project Assistance: May be assigned one or more specific projects during the internship. Demonstrates an understanding of the process and accountability for the results / outcomes. Works independently or as a member of a team to accomplish the tasks necessary to successfully complete the project. Involves others when needed in a timely manner and work to meet project timelines.
Miscellaneous: Provides staff operational / clerical support to the department / facility as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Completion of one year of a post-graduate degree program (preferably in Business, Public Health, or Health Services Administration).
Demonstrated leadership ability and skills in critical thinking, strategic planning, analysis and systems thinking

Demonstrated proficiency with business computer applications (i.e spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, databases)
- and -
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preference given to students who are in the middle of their first and second year of their Master's program
