BIOFIRE DEFENSE Research Associate for Systems Integration in MURRAY, Utah
Position Summary
This position is a member of a team that supports R&D, Operations, Engineering, and Quality Control. The primary responsibility is dedicated to evaluating and integrating chemistry, software, and instrumentation into a unified system. Tasks focus on molecular biology laboratory procedures, verification and validation efforts, technical writing, and some microbiology and troubleshooting. As a part of these tasks, excellent communication and documentation skills are necessary. The work is collaborative in nature and requires the ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and coordinate with peers, supervisors, and members from other departments.
Key skills required:
- Knowledge of commonly used molecular biology concepts, practices, and procedures, including PCR
- Familiarity in the microbiology field
- Experience in technical writing
- Knowledge of laboratory mathematics
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and other interactions
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay organized
- Ability to receive direct instruction and to work independently
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
Training and Education
Requires a bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study, or equivalent.
May be required to obtain and maintain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
Experience:
- 0-2 years' experience in a lab.
