  • Will be included in leadership on-call rotation

A Registered Respiratory Therapist who promotes and delivers quality care and maintains RT shift operational flow in collaboration with the RT Manager. Primary emphasis of this role is supervision of staff assigned to patient treatment on assigned shift, ensuring the best possible therapy coverage. May function in a dual capacity by performing duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist as needed.

What the Cardiopulmonary Clinical Supervisor will do:

  • Oversees and manages work schedules to ensure adequate shift staffing.

  • Evaluates workloads and reassigns/redistributes work as required and appropriate during the shift.

  • Conducts periodic assessment of workloads, assignments and completion of work during the shift.

  • Interviews and recommends candidates for hire. Completes evaluations and recommends merit increases relating to subordinate performance.

  • Manages and oversees site-specific orientation and training of new therapists on shift.

  • Participates in department’s strategic plan development and execution of assigned goals.

  • Participates in or leads, as department representative, organization quality improvement initiatives/projects.

  • Serves as a department liaison to interdisciplinary team members for areas of responsibility (i.e.: nurse managers, clinic leadership, Epic TogetherCare teams etc.).

  • Participates as a member of the Respiratory Therapy department in multidisciplinary team and committees.

What the Cardiopulmonary Clinical Supervisor will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree respiratory care.

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with a current State of Michigan license. BLS, NRP.

  • Five years of RT experience in a hospital setting. Completion of TH Essential Skills for New Leaders or equivalent experience and external development.

  • Good knowledge of information systems.

  • Word processing, spreadsheets, pharmacy software and databases. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.
