About the Role:

Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analysts perform periodic reviews of the bank's customers that are at elevated risk for money laundering in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. The analysts periodically review transaction activity, search for negative news on the company and beneficial owners, assess and analyze the activity to determine if the activity is consistent with the line of business, number of locations and does not operate entities that violate U.S. law or regulations. Periodic reviews are assigned based on skills and knowledge and are a range of low to moderate risk customers all the way to more complex customers that pose the highest risk levels requiring greater analysis skill. Working Job Title as a Sr CDD/EDD Analyst can be added to reflect advanced skills in reviewing customers of high and highest risk. EDD analysts are also assigned alerts generated from the AML system related to higher risk activity.

  • Analyze high-risk customer transaction activity to ascertain legitimacy of the business and the business transactions ensuring that the transaction activity is commensurate with the nature of the business entity.

  • Analyze AML policies, procedures, and third-party audits of entities required to maintain an AML program to ascertain the entities overall level of compliance and make recommendations regarding the entity based on analyzed level of AML risk the entity poses to the bank.

  • As part of the analysis requirements, the Senior EDD analysts periodically review transactional activity, search for negative news on the company and beneficial owners, assess and analyze the activity to determine if the activity is consistent with the line of business, number of locations and does not operate entities that violate U.S. law or regulations.

  • Prepare written analyses for all assigned high risk customers.

  • Responsible for completion of all assigned high risk alerts generated from AML systems.

  • Conducts training and mentoring responsibilities for newer or more junior EDD analysts.

  • Responsible for requesting and reviewing necessary supporting documentation for EDD depending on the type of review.

  • May be assigned responsibility to oversee, review and approve more junior EDD Analysts work product.

  • Maintain EDD periodic reviews in an organized fashion within the shared drive folders to ensure easy access to EDD periodic review records.

  • Senior analysts may be asked to lead new EDD analysts' training efforts with assigned new analysts and may be assigned responsibility to review and approve periodic EDD analysis. Training and mentoring responsibilities for newer or more junior EDD analyst.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities –

  • knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation

  • E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, business management, leadership, criminal justice, law, accounting, or related field required.

  • 3-5 years of previous banking experience, preferably in AML operations or AML Compliance.

  • CAMS designation or equivalent or willing to obtain certification.

  • Advanced knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act and its requirements.

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work as an individual contributor within a team to accomplish both individual and team goals.

  • Possess high level of analytical skills with the ability to apply that analysis to complex transactional and customer situations.

  • Demonstrate ability to train and mentor more junior EDD analysts

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $53,000.00-$80,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
