From your PASSION to ours
The Utilities Maintenance Technician IV position will maintain the daily operation of the utilities systems which provide steam (boilers), compressed air, refrigeration (ammonia compressors), and water (well & pressurized system) to the plant. The candidate will also be monitoring and maintaining fire systems and the water treatment plant.
The Level IV technician is an advanced technician and a working lead who performs mechanical, preventative, corrective, and project tasks as outlined in the Skills Matrix and as assigned. The Level IV skill set can perform advanced repairs and projects and can plan and implement process improvements while also demonstrating practical leadership skills, a positive and solutions-oriented approach, business understanding, and computer skills. They will be very comfortable dealing with all the problems that can occur in their department, mechanical, electrical, or electronic controls, and will get the machines fixed in a timely manner. The Level IV technician is self-directed and leads the day-to-day operation of the assigned department. The Level IV technician acts as a mentor to Level I, II, and III technicians and develops their skill sets. They will monitor line efficiencies and work on projects to eliminate repetitive breakdowns and improve machine efficiencies and ergonomics. They will also help develop and improve our preventive maintenance program. They will need a minimum of supervision. They might have to work different shifts to analyze breakdowns or cover for vacation. This person will need a great sense of self-motivation, excellent communication skills, and a very professional attitude. A Level IV technician who demonstrates superior leadership skills may be considered for further advancement within the department based upon evaluation and recommendation by department management.
Requirements
From your EXPERTISE to oursKey responsibilities for this position include:
Steam system: Operation and maintenance of the deaerator, boilers, and plant steam network.
Ammonia Refrigeration: Operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration systems.
Air System: Operation and maintenance of the air compressors and dryers.
Water system: Operation and maintenance of the well & water-pressurized pumping system.
Record all assigned tasks and labor hours in CMMS software.
Perform regular rounds of the entire site and roofs to monitor equipment and record data.
Perform daily clean-up to follow site GMPs.

Education
RETA, or GCAP preferred but not required.
Drivers’ license is required.
Experience
- 2+ years’ related experience in maintenance preferred.
Specialized Knowledge
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions.
Electrical troubleshooting.
Refrigeration Cycle.
Skills / Abilities
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Maximo computer software
Ability to work well with others.
Strong communication abilities in both written and verbal.
Self-motivated and ability to learn/work in a fast paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Able to be on your feet for a 12 hour shift.
