The Job

As a CI Manager, you’ll be part of our team located in Nantong or Shanghai. You’ll get to:

  • Role Overview :To effectively organize and oversee the management of Stanley Production System and Continuous Improvement within China and direct activities to ensure system and improvement initiative consistency impacting our products, timely delivery and related services to our customers, ensuring efforts are well coordinated, on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.

  • Scope of this Role: This is an individual contributor role, working closely with site general managers and ME & CI teams to roll out ME (Manufacturing Excellence) and coordinate CI (Continuous Improvement) projects to achieve operational targets.This is a regional role within China SEF business

  • Lead all ME and CI initiatives within China

  • Set the strategy target of ME and CI, decides the annual target based on broader business metrics and targets

  • Organize the existing ME and CI team, work alongside with local operations teams and site operations leaders on the ME implementation and CI productivity execution to achieve the targets

  • Support plant to establish the ME and CI team

  • Responsible for CI training - VSM, the concept of ME & implementation approaches, CI related knowledge

The Person

  • Minimum a recognized Engineering degree, with at least 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations for the automotive industry; MBA and/ or EMBA a plus

  • Familiar with various internal systems so as to pick up ME quickly (eg, TPS within Toyota, JCMS in Johnson’s control, DBS in Danaher, WCM, etc.)

  • Hands on experience in leading and executing continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment

  • Hands on knowledge with manufacturing costing

  • Possesses hands-on knowledge on CI knowledge (eg. Value stream mapping, 8D, fishbone, 7 muda, quality control, etc.)

  • Flexible to meet business needs, able to balance between data accuracy needs and requirements for actions

  • Sense of urgency to get things done in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment

  • Fluent in English – spoken & written; additional language abilities an advantage

  • Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO9001, QC080000 and HSF is preferred.
