BIN TO BOTTLE Canning Line Operator in Napa, California
Bin to Bottle Winery is seeking an experienced canning line operator. Applicants should have 4-5 years' experience operating canning lines and have strong mathematical skills and be familiar operating a collection of equipment types. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively operate canning lines and ensure all equipment is operating correctly.
- Read and interpret work order instructions and accurately record daily activities using clear and legible terminology.
- Learn and follow Winery Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Integrates with existing team to ensure continued efficient operations.
- Operates all equipment on the lines to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner.
- Utilize electronic interfaces for modern equipment - program and control as needed.
- Familiar with operating, troubleshooting, repairing etc. equipment HMI
- Operate and/or program HMI interface on production equipment as needed
- Performs line changes, sanitation, quality control and productive maintenance on all canning equipment.
- Assist with other cellar and winery projects as needed when not operating canning line.
- Promotes teamwork and supports a healthy, professional environment for all winery personnel.
- Availability to work morning or evening shift as needed.
- Good understanding of encoders, sensors, automation etc.
- Familiar with managing compressed gases i.e. CO2, Nitrogen, Compressed Air, Dewars etc
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Strong mathematical skills required i.e. division, multiplication, fractions, tolerances.
- High School diploma or GED; additional technical training, trade school or certification desired.
- 4+ years canning equipment line operating experience.
- Mechanical skills to operate canning line equipment required, familiarity with repair and maintenance of canning line and winery equipment preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to, lift trucks, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., and to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, climbing and twisting in the performance of various tasks.
- Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
- If applicable, requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under BTB's insurance policy.
