This position is responsible for the collection, accurate processing, data integrity, control and audit of data processed between various payroll related systems. Provides ongoing payroll customer service support to current and former employees, field and corporate management, through verbal and email communications in a payroll team environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, prepares, and validates payroll data. Leverages payroll system to produce accurate and timely payroll on weekly basis. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Execute time and attendance import processing to ensure a successful interface with the payroll system
  • Supports team members from all functional areas and performs additional tasks as assigned

Job Duties:

  • Review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Runs interfaces from SAP and Excel
  • Batches and enters data into SAP and Excel systems for non-exempt and exempt employees
  • Investigates and corrects potential interface errors from all systems
  • Logs and tracks payroll relevant data, creates and runs ad hoc queries in SAP Reporting as requested
  • Processes off-cycle payments as needed and/or required
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and ensure compliance through validation of employee set-up and regular validation of TPA data and compliance
  • Documents/updates various payroll processes to ensure continuity, consistency and efficiency within the department as well as review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Responds to payroll questions via phone/email and is responsible for issue resolution with a high degree of service, accuracy and professionalism
  • Interfaces with management, employees and other Payroll/HR team members
  • Assist with month-end financial close process as required
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities but works closely with HR, HRIS and Benefits staff to ensure the department's objectives are met
  • Due to Payroll processing schedule, may need to work certain holidays/weekends
  • Attendance processing with disciplines
  • Entering all scrap and production sheets
  • Orders all office supplies as needed
  • Performs entry of vacation slips and days off
  • Production reporting sheets and charts
  • Sets up lunches and gatherings for the plant as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Proven written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Good listener who is detail oriented

Comfortable in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment

Computer Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables. Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint also required.
