About the Indiana State Park Inns:

As one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country, the Indiana State Park Inns proudly operates seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana. Each one offers a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally!

Located just outside Nashville, Indiana, Abe Martin Lodge is nestled in the picturesque hills of Indiana’s largest state park, Brown County State Park. The lodge features 84 guest rooms, the Little Gem Restaurant, cabins, an indoor water park, and over 6,000 square feet of banquet/conference space

Role Overview:

The Aquatics Assistant Manager will serve as a leader of our department and is responsible for the assisting with Aquatics program including training and supervising team members, according to Indiana State Park standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. They will assist with leading the team in a fun and fast-paced environment, who proudly serve our guests.

Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $18/ hour but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Communicating with guests over a variety of communication and social platforms

  • Assist the Aquatics Manager as needed

  • Supervise the operation of the facility

  • Supervise lifeguards/attendants while on duty

  • Conduct in-service training

  • Supervise and assist in routine daily maintenance, including sweeping, picking up trash, cleaning restrooms, etc.

  • Must follow and enforce all State Park Inns policies, facility policies, and rules at all times

  • Must be able to verbally communicate with both the public and staff effectively

What You'll Need for Success:

  • One (1) season of swimming pool or other management.

  • Three (3) seasons of American Red Cross Lifeguarding experience preferred.

  • Certification in CPR/First Aid (or willingness to be certified).

  • Certified Pool Operator (or willingness to be certified).

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong communication, public relations, and leadership skills are required.

  • Strong oral and writing skills. Knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
