Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary

The primary purpose of the position is to provide technical and development expertise for developing new and existing software products within Integration Services at HCA. This position requires a candidate who can design, developing, test and implement solutions within ITG at HCA in a Lean/Agile Development environment. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter and must be committed to delivering high-quality solutions within agreed-upon timelines.

• Performing development using HCA standards and procedures, maintaining code and version control through Github.

• Ensure the effective design, build, testing, deployment, documentation and maintenance of applications integrating with the internal HIE and external organizations.

• Completing Unit Testing and participating in Peer/Code Reviews of other developers work

• Collaborate on research to implement new technologies based on identified areas for improvement.

• Assists more junior team members in technically complex projects in design, development, implementation, and support of solutions

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred

• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors:

• A successful candidate will have:

• Familiarity with Lean/Agile techniques in a development environment

• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, CCDA, or FHIR preferred but not required.

• Three or more of these areas are required (all are preferred)

• JSON, XML

• Unix

• C# and/or Java

• Rest Web Services

• SOAP

• SQL

• Apache Nifi

• Nuget and/or Maven

• Experienced developing and maintaining applications using .NET Core

• Experienced with MS SQL Server, specifically writing SQL and developing stored procedures

• Experience in data-layer development, including RESTful API services both as a provider and a consumer

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Prolonged sitting or standing at computer workstation including use of mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

• Requires ability to provide after-hours support and occasional travel.
