Farnsworth Group is seeking an Engineering Manager / Transportation Civil Engineer in our Nashville, TN office. This key leadership position will lead a client focused, technically excellent, transportation and traffic engineering team to serve local, statewide, and nationwide clients in the support of multiple planning and design projects.

Job Activities:

  • Management, design, and QC/QA of multiple planning, and design projects for Transportation Engineering.

  • Developing key relationships with the DOT and local agencies to assist with their Transportation and Traffic Engineering needs.

  • Develop, Mentor and Lead engineers and designers in the preparation of studies, planning, design, and specifications.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

  • Establish and maintain schedules and budgets.

  • Work in partnership on projects with leadership throughout the Transportation Group and entire Company.

Specific Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil, Transportation, or Traffic program

  • 15 – 25 years transportation and/ or traffic experience with diverse project experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Experience working on and with TDOT, county and local agency projects/ clients is required

  • Proven leadership skills with engineering staff leadership

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment

  • Ability to effectively manage clients and projects

  • Ability to effectively participate and lead marketing activities

  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously

  • Working experience with Microsoft Office, and knowledge of CONNECT and ORD.
