The Inside Sales Representative - Author Accounts will work with assigned HCCP authors to generate sales of products to respective authors to attain specified revenue goals provided from Sr. Director of Sales, Ministry Services. This position will work with each publishing team to identify initial forecast of new products for authors. Essentiality of authors having their product when they need requires excellence in forecasting the product to ensure availability of the product and continually monitoring inventory for each author based on their speaking schedules and other dates of need. This is a proactive execution where the rep calls or emails authors to obtain speaking schedules so they can discern date and quantity of need for each event. The Inside Sales Representative will process orders and work with Customer Service to ensure arrival of orders by author as needed. Will also consult with authors about custom edition opportunities of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Attain revenue goals.

  • Serve authors via handling inbound calls, emails and making outbound calls to assigned author accounts.

  • Research author contract buyback rates and then reachout to authors welcoming them to HCCP/HCF conveying their author contracted rates as well as other standard policies.

  • Each sales conference cycle, author rep will work with publishers to obtain first print forecast for author and whether that forecast will be a push for best sellers campaign. If it is identified as best seller campaign author rep will notify Bulk Sales so they allocate forecast according to where the sales will fall. If not a push for best seller campaign, author will notifiy supervisor of forecast for Anaplan forcasting.

  • Continually monitor author’s product needs of books that are already in print and keep forecast up-to-date in Inventory Planner to ensure product availability for author needs.

  • Submit author contractual discounts for hardcode on author account.

  • Work with Customer Service & warehouse to ensure on-time delivery of orders for authors for their speaking needs and load author events into Pubbuzz.

  • Key basic author orders that do not require special handling. On orders that require special handling work with appropriate Customer Service team to process and followup on order.

  • Activate in-active author accounts either via custom product opportunity or reprint of their stock product.

  • Increase author sales via additional product offerings beyond each author’s own product.

  • Develop strong intercompany relationships that leverage opportunity to close and increase sales to account base.

  • Present eBook and downloadable audio sales opportunity to each author of their book.

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow.

  • Quick adaption skills for learning new programs that help increase efficiency in serving authors (EX: Sales Macros, Past History Purchases).

  • Strong understanding of Excel.

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years sales or customer service experience.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Experience with custom product development is a plus.

Education:

BA, BS or equivalent work experience.

Industry Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of publishing industry, including production/manufacturing process and industry best practices preferred

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to plan ahead; set and accomplish goals and objectives

  • Strong computer skills
