Job Summary and Qualifications

Summary:

Provides insight into productivity opportunities to the Performance Improvement Labor team through operational and financial analysis. Develops and implements operational processes, in partnership with various Corporate stakeholders, to improve performance in various areas impacting labor indicators. Leads and facilitates monthly calls with the division labor team to outline expectations regarding various projects. Follows company standard processes and utilizes standard tools to ensure consistency across the company. Collaborates with Corporate, Division, and Facility Executives as well as department managers to continually improve productivity results. Participates in the annual budget process and implements productivity changes as needed. This individual must possess excellent technical and analytical skills, experience compiling and distributing reports, knowledge of HCA’s data sources, proven motivational capabilities, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops processes to support improved operations (such as sitter utilization, use of various pay codes, overtime management, etc.) in partnership with various corporate service lines. Outlines project plans for execution of initiatives and develops initiative tracking mechanisms including but not limited to status updates and dashboards.

  • Facilitates and develops materials for monthly operational Labor team calls. Explains purpose and communicates project expectations clearly.

  • Supports in the development of Financial Resiliency activities and performance tracking efforts

  • Designs reports that communicate performance, identify issues, and contribute to better management decisions including the identification and exploitation of best practices

  • Continuously monitor productivity performance using recognized tools and software.

  • Assists with the development, oversight, and improvements to daily operations, policies, systems and procedures necessary to support cost reduction and system utilization goals.

  • Extracts appropriate data from supporting systems and prepares ad hoc analyses and reports that serve to inform management and improve operations

  • Assists in providing monthly KPI’s for review and regular reporting and supports in development of Labor MOR

  • Assist in the development and training of Labor Management teams by assisting divisions with training, educational programs and resources

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience and/or skills in report development, reconciliation and analyzing data across multiple systems

  • Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel), SmartView/Essbase (cube reporting) and Business Objects (Ad-hoc reporting)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering - Preferred

  • Master's degree Relative work experience may substitute for other degrees - Preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in relevant work - Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Experience within healthcare operations - Preferred 3+ years of experience in analytics field, reporting and/or development - Required

This position may require occasional travel from time-to-time but not on a regular basis.
