Amazon Principal Program Manager, Global Logistics - Destination Operations in Nashville, Tennessee

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute program strategies to enhance port operations efficiency

  • Lead cross-functional teams, setting clear objectives and leveraging data analytics

  • Manage relationships with port/terminal management to remove operational barriers

  • Implement and oversee KPI reporting for program portfolios

  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing escalation into major issues

A day in the life

You'll start your day reviewing key metrics and coordinating with global teams. You might analyze data to identify optimization opportunities, then lead a strategy session with port partners. Later, you'll prepare for a business review, translating complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, solving challenges and driving continuous improvement in our logistics operations.

About the team

The Global Logistics Destination Operations team is at the forefront of Amazon's mission to become the world's first truly global e-commerce company. We're responsible for moving inventory from North American ports to Amazon Fulfillment Centers, utilizing innovative inbound strategies to balance cost and speed. Our work directly impacts customer satisfaction and Amazon's competitive edge in the global marketplace.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 7+ years of program or project management experience

  • 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) to derive insights and support decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

  • PMP certificate

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

  • Strong understanding of international shipping, customs regulations, and port operations

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Six Sigma, MS Project)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
