QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR

Job Description:

The Q&FS Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to the food safety, quality, and sanitation functions at the NomNom facilities to ensure product conformance to food safety and regulatory compliance as well as exceeding industry requirements. We are looking for a great leader to join our team. Position reports to QFS Manager.

What are we looking for?

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with food science or equivalent background

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work on the Google platform and Nom Nom specific programs (SafetyChain, etc.)

Knowledge/Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in food manufacturing with equivalent training/certification in HACCP, PCQI, etc.

  • 5+ years of management experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment

  • Ready to Eat product experience required; pet food experience preferred

  • Experience implementing and leading GFSI standards and maintaining compliance

  • Understands safety protocols and other industry standards

  • Develops effective working relationships with multiple cross-functional teams and facilities

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High-level organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong experience in creating, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures

  • Excellent conflict management skills

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Managing food safety and quality policies and procedures at both WCP and CHR sites

  • Oversee compliance with all regulatory bodies (federal, state, and local).

  • Investigate customer complaints surrounding quality to determine root causes, provide responses, and determine corrective and/or preventative actions (PRIMPs, CAPAs, deficiencies, action items, etc.).

  • Manage food safety, quality, and food process improvement activities implementation and continuous improvement for the MARS QMS

  • Assist in managing and running all ongoing food testing both in-house and via third-party partners as necessary.

  • Liaison between third-party sanitation and operations teams as necessary

  • Managing training and development of QFS Technicians, managing QFS Technician time and PTO.

  • Active approach to work safety and creating a safe work environment

  • Provide input along with making quality decision for non-compliant product in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications

  • Supporting internal and external audits

  • Presence on the floor
