Job Summary:

The Senior End User Engineer supports the day-to-day intermediate and advanced level End User tasks/requests/incidents. This position has expert working knowledge of all VUMC IT Microsoft tools and directly supports major incidents as needed. This role as participates in 24/7 on-call rotation for Desktop Engineering and will act as a mentor for the development of other End User Engineers on the team. This position will ensure that critical ongoing projects (Epic Migration, Hyperdrive migration, DaaS migration) are continuing to meet implementation milestones. This position will be involved in the implementation and optimization of enterprise-critical platforms and address issues in a timely, organized fashion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors applications and take corrective action.

• Trouble shoots devices and determines root cause analysis.

• Researches recommendations that meet customer needs.

• Design installation of servers, storage and networking.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

• Produces Independently (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the skill in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

• Desktop Knowledge (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of the best practices in practical applications of a difficult nature. Recommends improvements to best practices in area of specialty. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully following best practices without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving appropriate instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.

• Troubleshooting (Intermediate): Demonstrates the ability to determine if hardware problems require vendor dispatch for on site service/repair. Dispatches vendor using appropriate electronic facilities such as ServiceLink and ECCO system. Ability to use help desk tools to determine types of service coverage available including on site repair, mail-away, warranty service or time-and-material. Informs customers of status on a regular basis until problem has been resolved.

• End User (Intermediate): Has extensive knowledge and experience using the system and clearly understands its operational and procedural aspects. Able to articulate the impact of new enhancements to the application. Understands and monitors appropriate key business indicators as they may apply to the system. Troubleshoots difficult problems quickly and accurately.
