As the Sr. Manager of Engineering and Digital Innovation, you will lead a team of application engineers and a technical product manager, focusing on the technical execution and delivery of next-generation solutions. Your role will be pivotal in managing the development and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance digital products. With a strong emphasis on engineering principles, you will guide the technical strategy and execution across cloud-native architectures, DevOps pipelines, and advanced data engineering practices.

You will drive innovation through deep technical expertise, ensuring that engineering teams are equipped with cutting-edge tools and methodologies. This position requires a deep understanding of software development, system architecture, and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable code and data pipelines.

Technical Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring alignment with technical best practices and industry standards. Manage day-to-day technical operations, guiding teams in the development of high-performance, scalable software and data solutions. Emphasize continuous improvement and technical excellence in code quality, testing, and infrastructure management.

Architectural Oversight:

  • Own the technical architecture for various digital products, ensuring that systems are designed for scalability, security, and maintainability. Collaborate with senior engineers to implement cloud-native solutions, including microservices, containerization, and serverless architectures. Maintain a strong focus on reducing technical debt and improving system reliability.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the execution of engineering projects, managing resources, timelines, and risks. Ensure that engineering teams are following best practices in DevOps and agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software. Monitor project milestones and technical performance to ensure successful project delivery.

Emerging Technology Integration:

  • Identify and implement emerging technologies that enhance the capabilities of engineering teams and improve system performance. Explore and integrate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends and ensure the adoption of the latest innovations in cloud computing, AI/ML, and data engineering.

Cross-Disciplinary Team Leadership:

  • Lead cross-functional technical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between software engineers, data engineers, and DevOps specialists. Create a cohesive technical strategy that leverages the strengths of each discipline to drive product innovation and technical excellence.

Data Engineering and Analytics:

  • Oversee the design and deployment of robust data pipelines and data architectures. Ensure that data engineering teams are delivering real-time, scalable solutions that support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives. Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

DevOps and Automation:

  • Champion DevOps culture, emphasizing automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) throughout the software development lifecycle. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to improve the speed and reliability of deployments. Promote a culture of reliability and uptime, ensuring that systems are built to handle high-demand environments.

Technical Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain clear communication within the engineering organization, providing regular updates on technical progress and challenges. Ensure that engineering teams are aligned with the overall technical strategy and are delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.

Other:

  • Enforces accountability within staff, establishes controls and utilizes department metrics to measure success and stakeholder satisfaction.
