Job Summary and Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Systems Engineer, the candidate will provide SRE best practices for mission-critical applications across the enterprise. When these applications fail, you’ll have the skills and decision-making capabilities to quickly restore services, investigate the root cause, and develop a plan that mitigates future failures. You will spend time analyzing system performance and identifying ways to enhance the reliability of our environments, from developing dashboards, performing configuration changes, building robust monitoring systems, and learning how to leverage automation to drive efficiencies. You will help drive uptime and reliability across the enterprise.
The position will interact and collaborate with users from supported hospitals, representatives from the HCA division service desks and shared service centers, vendor representatives and other HCA corporate departments to ensure expected value is realized.
This individual will primarily analyze and resolve Systems Management hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Position will interact daily with the field, customer support, design and build, business partners, vendors, other IT&S staff/management and end users/customers on developing alerting solutions that meet HCA business requirements.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior System Engineer must exhibit communication skills to maintain positive business relations with employees, customers, business partners, peers and other IT&S personnel. Some of those expectations are:
• Tier II or III Application and systems support - troubleshooting/problem resolution, protocol analysis, system troubleshooting/problem determination
• Work with internal and vendor resources to install, configure, administer, tune, and optimize application systems servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported.
• System and application impact analysis and capacity planning
• Participate in new application/systems implementations, and assisting in the development of processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server/application.
• System architecture and tiered application knowledge. Understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns.
• Policies/procedural documentation and enterprise level system diagramming
• Software/hardware device upgrades, LAN equipment configurations/provisioning
• Network Security technologies and products - DHCP, Routing, Firewalls, Proxy, etc.
• Project Management and problem management skill sets
• Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's Systems and Alert Management applications.
• Manages performance both software and hardware
• Maintains security of Clinical applications.
• Virtualization – Troubleshoot, support and evaluate performance and growth opportunities
• Assesses system management server cluster performance.
• Analyze and provide recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
• Supports development of technical standards and application uses.
• Resolves alert management problems and offers technical assistance to users.
• Analyzes user specifications and requirements.
• Lead projects as assigned – application/system upgrades, audit remediation, troubleshooting etc. Includes developing timeline estimates, resources needs and identifying gaps
Minimal Travel required.
On Call work will be required.

• DHCP, DNS, and LAN design, deployment, and troubleshooting
EDUCATION
College graduate preferred
EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of relevant work experience required
