Amazon is seeking a curious, cross-functional, and collaborative marketing and communications manager to join the Operations Internal Communications team in North America. The person in this role should be a results-driven communicator who is both passionate about growing employee communities and executing high-visibility communications.

As the Social Media Communications and Channel Manager, you will drive content creation and community-building initiatives for our worldwide Operations employees. The ideal candidate has solid judgment and the ability to influence without authority, as well as experience with producing content for large audiences on digital and social media platforms.

This role can be located in Seattle, WA, or Nashville, TN.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage content strategy and execute day-to-day on-platform community engagement and moderation across Operations Internal Communications social media channels.

• Develop creative ways to activate and grow our audience on social media platforms, such as Instagram and YouTube, demonstrating excellent judgment, instincts, and a deep understanding of the social media landscape.

• Analyze social trends, algorithms, competitors, and the broader social environment to discern user preferences and behaviors, informing content strategy.

• Source, create, and publish timely social media content designed to educate, build awareness for signature benefits, and celebrate our peculiar culture with current and future Amazonians.

• Manage existing and new relationships with third-party agencies and content creators.

• Regularly track, analyze, and report on progress against goals, content performance, and overall program health for team business reviews and reports.

• Optimize and enhance existing playbooks and toolkits, leveraging best practices to widen reach and increase engagement.

• Streamline and improve production flows for social media, campaigns, and communications.

• Address blockers and escalate issues and complaints to designated leadership.

• Continuously explore new and innovative ways to leverage social media—we encourage a "Think Big" mindset.

A day in the life

You will both manage and execute the day-to-day operations of our social media program, leveraging third-party agency or contract support, if applicable. This role is critical in supporting strategic employee engagement initiatives, providing exceptional employee experiences via social channels, and driving functional excellence and process.

About the team

Operations Internal Communications is a team of 100+ communicators across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Middle East/North Africa, sharing news updates, need-to-know information, and pride-building storytelling with more than 1 million Amazon Operations managers and associates across the world.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs

  • Experience utilizing systems and tools involving email, web, analytics, and CRM (Marketo, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) for targeting, segmentation, reporting for demand generation

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
