Description
North America Sort Centers (NASC) Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to join its Sourcing pillar in developing and delivering next generation, world-class sortation and transportation processes and design standards. This position will support NASC Eng's Sourcing, a newly formed core pillar for the organization.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. You will be responsible for creating, managing, updating new standard documents for the space, equipment, and distances involved in every process path and package handling step within NASC. You will own the knowledge and standard process for all of NASC and be a critical input and reference point for upstream design teams and downstream Operations support teams.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; You will grow.
Key job responsibilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and owning frequent presentations to senior leadership, L8• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality workspace innovations for people, MHE, and technology within NASC
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
• Travel Requirements: 50%
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
5+ years of program or project management experience
5+ years of supply chain experience
Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical and quantitative skills, using data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Experience leading implementation of new processes, systems, metrics and tools in procurement/supply chain organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
