Oshkosh Corporation Supervisor - Production (Welding and Fabrication Operations) in Nashville, Tennessee

This role will be based onsite are our brand-new facility in Murfreesboro and reporting to our Plant Manager. Our facility includes assembly, welding, fabrication, and paint assembly processes. This supervisor will be directly tied to our welding and fabrication side of the business.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor will provide leadership at a world class state of the art manufacturing production line. This role will enable our people first competencies and interact with a cross functional team to deliver high quality products within the facility. The Production Supervisor will provide leadership and support to the manufacturing teams to create a safe, productive, and profitable environment. This role will plan and facilitate the work of team members to support on-time completion of production schedules, quality, housekeeping, and safety objectives. This role will develop high performance work teams with ongoing coaching and direction, both formal and informal, enabling a People First Culture.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Lead production team members in a non-union environment on the manufacturing process and provide daily support in troubleshooting issues that arise.

Promotes safety as a common vision by setting, supporting, and monitoring 6S initiatives weekly.

Responsible for meeting or exceeding all productivity targets for zone on a consistent basis.

Reports daily KPI results to team members and leadership (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, Maintenance).

Coach and mentor team members on the 4 Capabilities, Principles, 7Step Problem Solving, and application of A3s.

Educate and enforce quality, safety, and 5S standards and processes, and recommend changes as opportunities arise on production floor.

Support maintenance, continuous improvement, and value stream projects that support the business and ensure the production schedule demands are met.

Work comfortably and effectively with support teams that support production line (Quality Lead, Ops Engineering, Manager, Materials Lead, Training, Safety, Scheduling, and MFG Solutions).

Conduct root-cause analyses of manufacturing process to identify, define, and resolve problems and opportunities. Enlists the requisite support to ensure the timely resolution of problems and the prompt implementation of improvements.

Report and respond to product and process nonconformance issues.

Provide day to day management to team members; including conducting performance reviews, career coaching, and development, providing feedback on met/unmet expectations.

Participate in cross-training activities between production areas with no adverse impacts on safety, quality, productivity or morale in the zone and area.

Facilitates team members training in standardized work practices, as well as maintaining compliance with our quality standards.

Responsible for understanding computer programs such as (Truck Builder, Pro Planner, etc. based on role) as well train team members on the use of Pro Planner as it relates to their role.

Ensures all team members are using equipment and PPE properly and enforcing our PPE policies to create a safe and healthy working environment.

Responsible for following and enforcing all production policies in the Team Member Handbook.

Keeps accurate and timely attendance, discipline, and safety records in the systems (i.e., Supervisor notes, Kronos, Workday, JDE, etc.).

Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.

Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of employee personal data, documents, and files.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One (1) year of supervisory/lead experience.

  • Acceptable attendance record with four or less attendance points in the past twelve (12) months.

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT:

  • Lean/Six Sigma or Project Management experience.

  • Team and Continuous Improvement Training.

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Ability to multitask and use time management skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Kronos, and JDE.
