Amazon System Development Engineer (m/f/d) in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

The Observability, Visualization and Analysis team is responsible for correlating and providing real-time insights into the health of thousands of services relevant for the availability of Amazon’s most critical fulfillment and robotics functions. The team’s software is crucial for reducing and preventing downtime for Amazon Operations based on a novel graph-based approach that detects, correlates, aggregates and visualizes service health at large scale.

We are looking for a talented System Development Engineer to work on the future central service health system integrating all services world-wide important to keep the Customer Promise. As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a greenfield project while working with engineers across Amazon. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development and has a track record of leading design, implementation and operation of large-scale systems. They are keen about creating maintainable, high-quality software that is built and deployed through continuous delivery (CD). They care about the user experience and are confident in both back and front-end initiatives. Above all else, have a passion for well-architected software and are to ship on time with high quality to ensure Amazon delivers customer orders on time, every time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

  • Experience with Linux/Unix

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale
