This flyer uses the DHA DIB non-competitive authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will function as a Security Specialist aiding in the security disciplines for Special Access Program (SAP) access and be responsible for the day-to-day management of sensitive specialized programs. You will work with a variety of security duties involving many different and unrelated processes and methods relating to well-established SAP areas of security planning and administration. You will manage and administer personnel security, physical security, information protection, communication security, information assurance and operations security based on your knowledge and understanding of security disciplines. You will manage information security to include accountability, reproduction material, destruction material, classified pack outs, and transmission of documents to ensure proper procedures are in place and implemented. You will manage physical security, personnel security, computer security and operations security to ensure implementation of programs and recommend changes/improvements to ensure security measures are maintained. You will ensure program effectiveness and integrity by providing solutions to security problems/questions, developing alternative/options to meet requirements and by ensuring SAP responsibilities are being carried out. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-09, or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience assisting a special security officer and implement established security policies and procedures while monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of an established security program, e.g. Special Access Program (SAP). Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Security Administration Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of experience, education may be substituted if one or more of the following are met: - successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR - successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
