Naval Supply Systems Command MATERIALS EXAMINER & IDENTIFIER (FLO) in Naval Base, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a Materials Examiner & Identifier (FLO) in the Industrial Support Department, Advanced Traceability and Control (ATAC) Division of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will load and unload materials on/from trucks, loading docks and conveyors. Receive and segregate material for screening/material identification purposes. You will operate material handling equipment (MHE) for movement up to 8,000 lbs. You will review shipping documentation to ensure proper turn information was provided. You will inspect and determine the completeness and condition of items/materials. You will perform data entry/processing for the disposition of the material through automated systems producing stock receipts, transshipment, disposals, packing, shipment and all pertinent document reparation actions. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN SUPERVISION I have the ability to perform the duties of a Materials Examiner and Identifier including as demonstrated by experience working independently receiving various types of materials, equipment, and components; reviewing shipping documentation to ensure proper turn-in information was provided; inspecting and determining the completeness and condition of items/materials; identifying turned in materials/items locating part numbers and cross-referencing, as needed; Querying databases to verify parts numbers and ensure correct identification; input material identification, condition, and shipping information into a computerized system; Preparing shipping documents; Operating Material Handling Equipment including forklifts; Comply with established procedures to pack materials/items for shipment or storage; load and unload material from trucks, loading docks, and conveyors; possess familiarity of aviation and marine/ship components and materials. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
