United States Fleet Forces Command SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Naval Shipyard, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Mid-Atlantic Calibration Center (MARCC), Quality Assurance Office, Code 137 of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will direct various diversified technical programs associated with metrology engineering and calibration, as well as control of facilities, planning, budget, and distribution of personnel. You will review the overall workload of the MARCC, determine necessary actions and capacity for accomplishment, and set work priorities and completion dates for assignments. You will maintain an internal quality program that monitors for deficiencies and documents these problems. You will be required to perform supervisory duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in the application of Navy metrology and calibration requirements, regulations, programs, processes, and systems. Experience with electrical/electronic or mechanical/physical concepts and principles as they relate to metrology and calibration equipment, standards, methods and techniques. Experience leading or managing personnel, planning, distributing, coordinating and monitoring work assignments of others; evaluating work performance and providing/communicating feedback. Experience clearly and effectively articulating, presenting, and promoting varied ideas and issues before a wide range of audiences including Navy Fleet, NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NSWC, Naval Shipyards and other customers at all levels of responsibility in order to resolve differences, collaborate and effect good working relationships. Experience in collecting data, conducting surveillances or audits and evaluating trends/information to determine and detect program weaknesses and quality concerns in order to promote continuous improvement.
