This employee will be a working technician in the field in the capacity from installation to maintenance. The position is outfitted with a fully outfitted service/installation truck. The employee will be responsible for managing the other technicians in the operations such as directing, coaching, counseling and organizing daily tasks for the technical staff. The employee is also the lead during plant restoration efforts.
The employee will be required to train the technical staff whether new entry employees or continued training for existing technicians. The companys inventory of plant material will be maintained by the employee as well as the safekeeping and organization of the headend/warehouse.
The employee will be responsible for the accountability of the fleet, test equipment, cell phone and other assets assigned to technicians. The employee will be responsible to fulfill the daily workload in the system whether installation, service or maintenance and be in a managers role within the companys field routing system.
The employee will assist the Area Manager / Technician in the field operations as directed and perform special tasks as directed.
The core tasks consist of field work such has installation, trouble calls, maintenance jobs, plant repair, CLI reporting, site surveys, construction tasks, plant material control, headend/warehouse control and technician management.
The employee will not pull call unless special circumstances arise. The employee will be called upon to work on headend issues as directed by the Area Manager / Technician.
This manager/tech should have a minimum of three years of experience as a technician in the CATV industry and be versed in technology and broadband, and VOIP services. They must be able to fill in any position and complete such work as required by a service tech, maintenance tech, headend tech, and installer tech to maintain the integrity of the system and ensure compliance with all company and CATV industry standards. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with HFC constructions and a good understanding of all safety aspects, including NEC and NESC rules.
