JOB REQUIREMENTS: Folder Gluer Backup Operator - R5833 The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. * Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. * Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines. * Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems. * Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements. * Distinguish between different carton stock types and their specific performance characteristics. * Ability to differentiate different carton styles and functionality. * Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively. * Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment. * Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product. * Complete required quality inspections and paperwork. * Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance. * Program and monitor our Leary adhesive detection system(s). * Flexibility to be able to move between all folder gluer and finishing equipment and shifts to fill for vacation and absences as needed. * Assist the CAD department in development of new designs by explaining equipment specifications. * Ability to perform all the Folder Gluer Helper tasks effectively, for the purpose of rotating during the shift. * Provide guidance and direction to assigned machine crew. * Work as a team to run the folder gluers through breaks and shift changes. * Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area. * Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements. * Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives. * Performs other duties as assigned by management.
