An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available at Shire Neuchâtel Plant (approx. 650 employees) for an experienced Project Leader / Capital Program Co-ordinator to join our Site Engineering team.

Your Mission

Working within ‘Capital Projects Engineering’ team, your mission will be to co-ordinate the site Capital Program, and provide Project leadership for various projects that are required to improve & ensure the current Neuchatel Plant and production activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The ‘Capital Projects Engineering’ team with the Site Engineering department ensures continuous support for the Shire Neuchatel site installation.

The ‘Capital Projects Engineering’ team are specifically responsible for managing and deliverying projects of varying complexity that span the complete site operations and organisational boundaries. As part of the ‘Capital Projects Engineering’ team, the Capital Program Co-ordinator has the added responsibility of managing the site Capital portfolio, compiling the site yearly CAPEX budget and ensuring that the site capital forcast is maintained.

The Capital Program Co-ordinator/Project Leader shall:

  • Manage and Co-ordinate site CAPEX portfolio (@30% capacity)

  • Manage the site Long Range (5yr) Capital Plan

  • Enforce the Shire Global Capital Management Proceedure/Methodology

  • Work closely with Neuchatel local PPM to improve project management coherence / standardization

  • Assist project leaders with cost and resource estimation, expenditure forcasting & reporting

  • Determine or analyse project cost estimate / Schedule

  • Ensure delivery on time and within budget

  • Ensure site CAPEX spending and forecasts are within +/-5%

  • Lead various projects (@70% capacity) as identified in the site CAPEX portfolio.

  • Coordinate and supervise project execution related activities, from initiation to close out (hand-over)

  • Develop, clarify and manage the scope of the project, define contract deliverables and achieve targeted outcomes.

  • Ensure project requirements are achieved in a timely fashion and within budget guidelines

  • Assemble project team, identify needed resources, assign responsibilities and develop timeframes to facilitate successful completion of project activities

  • Ensure compatibility and consistency with existing organization and industry standards (PPM , cGMP, GEP, etc.)Requirements

  • Engineering degree (BS, MS or equivalent) in biotechnology, chemistry, food processing and/or mechanical engineering.

  • 7+ years experience in the Pharma/Biotech industry and or Food/Chemical Industry.

  • Experience in the project management and planning, installation, commissioning and validation of pharmaceutical facilities, utiltities and process equipment.

  • Experience in project cost estimation & cost controlling, resource estimation

  • Knowledge of Good Engineering Practices, cGxPs, FDA guidelines, ISPE guidelines, ASTM2500 & ASME/BPE standards.

  • French and English (spoken and written), German a plus

  • Computer skills: MS-Office suite and MS-Project and/or Primavera
