The Position

Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.-

PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-06, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2024. On Army National Guard facilities, the incumbent will perform landscape duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, and weeding, and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts, hoists, and scissor/boom lifts. The incumbent may perform preventive maintenance and make repairs by maintaining and cleaning wells, and storage tanks and repairing controllers, valves lines, sprinklers, and backflow preventors. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Six months of experience performing basic grounds maintenance work; OR six months of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Notes

As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.

Special Requirements

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
