The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

This position serves as an integral part of the fiscal team which works closely with programs in support of the agency's mission to eliminate deaths and injuries on Nevada's roadways so everyone arrives home safely. The Office of Traffic Safety is an agency involved in complex grant management and statewide program delivery, working with local partners, law enforcement, Nevada DOT, policy makers, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to deliver best practices to traffic safety projects.

The incumbent will be responsible for the daily management of State and Federal fiscal processing for multiple budget accounts, preparing Federal draws, maintaining internal controls, ensuring State and Federal compliance with expenditures of grant funds. The incumbent will also conduct research and analysis, desk audits and on-site monitoring of subrecipients and review, write, and revise training materials and procedure manuals. Occasional public speaking events including training of sub-recipients and educational events are required. This position performs contract administration which includes preparation of division-initiated contracts, leases, and inter-local agreements; negotiate contractual terms; advise programs of potential impacts by accepting contractual terms and identifying and resolving contractual issues. This position will provide direct support to the Administrative Services Officer. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Additional Position Criteria

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
