Robert Half Senior Cost Accountant in New Albany, Mississippi
Description We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the Retail industry, based in New Albany, Mississippi. In this role, you will be expected to manage cost accounting tasks, perform cost analysis, and use accounting software systems and Excel formulas to maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Perform cost accounting activities for our retail operations
• Utilize accounting software systems to manage and maintain financial data
• Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for financial improvement
• Use Excel formulas to generate financial reports and forecasts
• Monitor and review financial details to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate with the financial team to set budgets and manage costs
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance
• Support the financial team in annual audits
• Provide recommendations for cost-efficient strategies based on analysis. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Cost Accounting
• Strong skills in Cost Analysis
• Proficient in Excel Formulas
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Retail industry
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
