Reference #: 4622243 THE POSITION Are you looking for an opportunity to provide support to older adults in your community, helping them navigate through the aging process with the mostappropriate resourcesavailable?The Perry County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is seeking an Aging Care Manager 1 to join our team of professionals. This position provides beginning-level care management services to older adults in need of protective services. Join us in our mission to enhance the quality of life of older citizens of Perry County.   DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Aging Care Manager 1 you will participate in professional development and on-the-job training where you will learn to recognize the need for protective and supportive services for abused, exploited, or neglected older adults. Work includes completing assessments, aiding Aging Care Managers II & III in the protective services department, and preparing case documentation. You will have the opportunity to obtain information for the identification of client needs and provide information and referrals to older adults for available supports and services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as an Aging Case Aide 2; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by twelve (12) credits in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Perry County. Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
