As part of the SMT Engineering team, assume manufacturing process ownership for Surface Mount Technology for the New Braunfels site, including solder paste printing, microdispensing/underfill, electronic component placement, and inspection manufacturing processes for new products. Initiate and lead manufacturing continuous improvement activities to meet and exceed specific measurable goals for department safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction and up time.
Job Description:
▪Supports new and existing Surface Mount Technology including installation, programming, service contracts and equipment qualifications
▪Team with internal Continental teams to feedback/optimize product design and quality;
▪Manage concurrent projects to accomplish required team, department, plant and corporate goals
▪Develop, optimize, and maintain machine placement / dispense programs for new products;
▪Mentor technicians to achieve team projects and goals
▪Generate reports using production data for quality and performance evaluation;
▪Train operators and technicians on proper operation and maintenance of the machines;
▪Support Continental global TechNet & CCM teams;
▪Support other Continental facilities on projects and problems;
▪Monitor equipment hardware performance for opportunities to improve, including calibrations;
▪Monitor equipment software performance (cycle time, first pass yield, defects, false calls, escapes, etc) to achieve plant/production targets;
▪Interact with design, production and quality teams on process improvements
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Engineering
Knowledge of high volume manufacturing environments
Strong problem-solving skills.
Willingness and ability to train others.
Strong verbal and documentation skills.
Ability to create and execute work plans independently.
Strong aptitude and experience with a PC.

Preferred Qualifications:
2 years experience in a relevant engineering field.
Knowledge of SMT equipment desired.
Understanding of FMEA's
