Job Description

The Quality Inspector I/II plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality by inspecting materials for conformance to engineering specifications and standards. This position involves the inspection and testing of products, materials, and components to confirm they meet established quality standards and specifications. Responsibilities include conducting visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests using various tools and equipment. In addition, inspections may cover purchased or manufactured materials, assemblies, sub assemblies, and final devices. The Quality Inspector I/II meticulously documents inspection results, identifies non-conformities, and collaborates with the quality team to resolve issues and enhance processes.

• Quality Improvement: Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at

enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.

• Root Cause Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis for defects and nonconformities, assisting in the development and implementation of corrective actions.

• Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all inspection tools and equipment are properly

maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and quality standards.

• Reporting: Generate, document, and distribute detailed inspection reports and summaries as

required.

• Communication: Effectively communicate inspection results and quality issues to relevant

stakeholders, ensuring clarity and prompt resolution.

• Inspection: Utilize appropriate inspection devices, drawings, and methodologies to thoroughly inspect parts and materials.

• Documentation: Accurately record the status of materials, categorizing them as accepted,

reworked, or rejected.

• Prioritization: Collaborate with operations personnel to prioritize and manage the flow of materials through the inspection process.

• Nonconformance Management: Execute transactions for nonconforming materials within the applicable system.

• Productivity: Consistently meet established productivity targets and expectations.

• Drawing Interpretation: Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and technical

specifications.

• Standard Work Execution: Execute assigned Standard Work procedures effectively and

consistently.

• Independence: Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Attendance: Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

• Overtime: Be willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet operational needs.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED: Required.

• Associate's Degree: Preferred in a related field such as Quality Assurance, Engineering,

Manufacturing Technology, or a similar discipline.

• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) from the

American Society for Quality (ASQ) or other relevant certifications are highly valued.

• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a quality inspection or related role within a manufacturing

or production environment.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers,

micrometers, gauges) and familiarity with inspection techniques and procedures.

• Industry Standards: Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to quality

assurance (e.g., ISO 9001).

• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical

specifications.

• Electrical Assemblies: Prior experience or training in inspecting electrical assemblies and

understanding electrical diagrams.

• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with quality management software and basic computer skills

(e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively under deadlines, ensuring timely inspection and

reporting.

• Generates detailed reports for nonconforming materials, documenting findings and actions taken.

• Exhibits strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, capable of making logical decisions and

solving basic problems efficiently.
