| Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse for the Central Region based in Trenton, NJ. The Advanced Practice Nurse reports to the site psychiatrist for clinical matters (e.g. diagnosis and treatment), and to the site administrator for administrative matters (e.g. vacation, timekeeping). The Advanced Practice Nurse, supervised by the site psychiatrist, performs psychiatric evaluations, conducts psychiatric follow-up visits, and prescribes psychiatric medications to inmates within the New Jersey Department of Corrections. The age range of inmates varies from 16 to 65+. In addition, the Advanced Practice Nurse works with a variety of healthcare professionals (e.g. physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses) and correction officers in a correctional environment providing health services to inmates.
