Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Manager Retail Operations for the Department of Dining Services. This position will be reporting to the Executive Director of Dining Services.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Supervises all activities at Harvest at IFNH, with an annual operation budget of $500,000.
  • Responsible for menu planning, food production and service; cash handling; staffing.
  • Meets all safety, sanitation and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in food service management, culinary arts, nutrition or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, plus a minimum of two years of experience in food service management.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Have a driver's license.
  • Requires ServSafe Certification.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and computer literacy in industry standard software. Must be able to work at variety of locations and work a flexible schedule including extended daily hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry food, equipment and beverage items.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years of experience in the food service management preferred.
Equipment Utilized
  • Familiarity with RIAS HCM, Kronos Timekeeper, Absence Reporting System, FoodPro desired.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift and carry food, equipment and beverage items.
  • Must be able to work at variety of locations and work a flexible schedule including extended daily hours, weekends, or during recesses.
